Story
Dr Nil Sanganee, Dr Pradeep Krishnamurthy and Advanced Nurse Practitioner Tanya Collins will be taking part in the Staunton Harold Duathlon this October. They are set to run 5km, cycle 26km and finally run 2.5km to raise funds for the 'Friends of Castle Medical Group Charity'.
The event will take place on Sunday 17th October 2021 on a privately - owned estate in the stunning surroundings of Staunton Harold Hall, providing the perfect backdrop for an enjoyable day out for all the family.
The run is on closed roads and trail through the estate grounds. The bike route is undulating through South Derbyshire countryside finishing by a picturesque run through the National Forest Biggin Wood in front of the Hall and tranquil lake.
The aim of this charity is to raise funding to purchase equipment and services which are not available on the NHS to benefit Castle Medical Group patients. This charity is registered with the charities commission and any money received is controlled by an independent body of trustees.
Because of the amazing donations from our patients, we have been able to buy a Centrifuge machine which means that we are one of only a few practices that can do blood tests in the afternoon after our standard blood collection late morning from the hospital. This has really helped for patients who can’t attend in the morning for a blood test and improved our overall availability.
The charity enabled us to purchase an automated blood pressure machine that is available in reception for patients to be able to check their blood pressure at any time, this has also dramatically reduced the number of appointments required with a Health Care Assistant.
The team would very much welcome your support, thank you!
