Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I will attempt the 26.4 kilometre swim from Rapperswil to Zurich in August.  The swim is being estimated to take between 8 and 9 hours depending upon conditions and my own navigational skills on the day.

To give an idea of the challenge which awaits the competitors, to achieve the same distance in a standard sized swimming pool you would need to swim 1,056 lengths without stopping!

A canoe will accompany me throughout the swim and assist with drinking and feeding although no actual contact is allowed.

The swim attracts swimmers from all around the world. I am swimming in the non wetsuit 40+ age group category against individuals from Australia, Germany and Italy to name but a few.
