Story
So, having run my first marathon aged 48, I've decided to give it one more go! I'm now 8 weeks into my training, and right now the start line (let alone the finish line) feels pretty daunting. The memories of the pain are coming back to me now, and I'm trying to run it 2 minutes faster having clocked 4:01 last year. Unfortunately though, I seem to be even older this year. Oh blimey.
I am running on behalf of Macmillan, hoping to raise £2,500 towards the amazing work that they do to support those fighting cancer. I experienced this at first hand when their wonderful nurses helped to look after my Dad in the latter stages of his long battle with prostate cancer.
Please do not feel obliged to donate anything other than a very small amount. I know that everyone receives many such requests, and I can't re-use last year's claim that it is my first time of asking! Any donation, however big or small, will be received with real gratitude.
Many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Fundraising is obviously hugely important to Macmillan. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
