Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Once upon a time I participated in many a charitable event, most involved silly things and NO training, going bald, drinking, playing darts, late nights and good fun, and then as I got a little older I became a giver and a watcher, again all good fun and little effort.

This year a group of us got together and decided we wanted to raise some money by doing something slightly different within RBS, so a marathon triathlon was born, swimming the channel, riding from Paris to London on bicycles, nowadays the only bike I ride has an engine, and the majority of our centres walking, running or doing something that relates to distance to collectively try and raise as much as possible for Clic Sargent, a supportive cancer charity for children and young people & their families - check out their website for all the great work they do.

Monday 24th - Monday 1st July we are fundraising, and we are doing so under the banner of ' One Week in June'

I have volunteered to swim the channel, well not all of it and not in the sea, but I have joined a team of 10 who will swim 21 miles in a swimming pool, in record time, well it will be for us !

Being well known as a big floater, I think it only apt, that I swim.

My contribution will be 100 lengths or 3000 metres which is one and the same, and for once I AM training and it is hard......

It's a physical challenge that I need plenty of support on, so please encourage me with your donations, Friday 28th June is when I swim, and I would love your support, so that the charity can continue to it's great work.....
