Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At 68 years of age, I have reached a landmark in my life. This summer will mark 50 years since I started at King Alfred's College, Winchester and one year on since having a radical prostatectomy.
After regular PSA (prostate specific antigen tests) and a couple of template biopsies our excellent NHS identified a vigorous cancer which required removal of my prostate gland.
To aid research into early identification and treatment of this cancer I will be encouraging my two artificial knees to complete the following jaunts this summer.
Firstly to coincide with my start at college 50 years ago I will be meandering 50 miles through Hampshire at the start of July.
Secondly, to celebrate the start of my teaching career in 1976 I will add another 26 miles in September by joining Jeff Stellings Football March on the route between Wembley Stadium and Adams Park (Wycombe Wanderers ground) in honour of the BBC's Bill Turnball who died of prostate cancer last year.
Please contribute via my Just Giving page.
With all my thanks
Clive.
