Hi everyone!

London marathon 2022 here we go !

I am delighted to be raising money for The Mulberry Bush and getting to run this iconic marathon. In the past I worked for the NHS adult mental health services in London as a mental health nurse, supporting individuals, some of whom had been dealt an unimaginably traumatic time growing up. The Mulberry Bush Organisation offers a life line, a safe haven to children, ultimately enabling the chance to live a happier and more fulfilling life. I wonder how many adults that I worked with would not have needed mental health services given the work and support that The Mulberry Bush provides.

So please help me raise loads of money for the Mulberry Bush School and in so doing support me to get over the 26.2 mile finish line in London on 2nd October!

A brief overview of The Mulberry Bush.

Transforming troubled lives through specialist therapeutic services. The Mulberry Bush School was established in 1948 in Standlake, near Witney, and is a residential school for some of the most emotionally-distressed and traumatised primary school-aged children. These children have experienced early trauma, neglect and abuse and have usually had numerous failed educational and home placements. 

Nowadays, The Mulberry Bush is so much more than the School. Through Outreach & Training teams, research team and the National Centre for Reflective Practice, they help children from all over the country, as well as those who support them. Despite being a national resource, they receive very little government funding. Local authorities pay fees that cover the basic cost of care and education. However, these don't cover refurbishment, capital development, extra therapy or any of the fun, extra-curricular activities that other children take for granted. The Mulberry Bush is a little piece of heaven.
