Story

Hey Guys

So, a few months ago I decided it was a good idea to try and climb THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN AFRICA. "Oh yeah, what a brilliant plan", I thought to myself. "Won't that be an achievement." Well, needless to say it is and I'm totally incredible for doing it etc etc, but I didn't quite appreciate what was actually involved in climbing a goddamn mountain.

Here's where you come in. Now I've given you the backstory, you guys give me money. Ok, I'm doing it for Meningitis Research, so you're not giving me money directly, but if I got meningitis and died then you would be. If you want a good reason, a cure for meningitis can't be patented by drug companies, so the only way research gets done is through the Research Foundation. We're on the verge at the moment, it's estimated to be about 10 years away. That means every precious, sweet, coppery penny you donate brings it closer. And if you don't donate, that's fine. It just means you don't believe in believing in a better tomorrow.

There you go. I was totally funny with that story, wasn't I? That deserves a fiver. Think of it as you repaying me for years of christmas presents by helping me not die.

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
