Story

This November I will be growing a beard for charity. However instead of all of the money raised going to Movember to help men’s health, specifically tackling prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention, my donation will be split 50/50 between Movember and Pain UK to make it more personal to me.

For those of you that aren’t aware for over a decade, my Dad has suffered from persistent and chronic pelvic pain caused by pudendal nerve damage. The pudendal nerve supplies sensation from everything from the penis and testicles to the prostate. In short, his nerve damage gives him a feeling like someone is constantly squeezing a region that ought not to me squeezed resulting in an 8/10 pain 24/7. For years he was on subscription morphine and it is only over the last year that doctors have managed to move him away from this addicted opiate.
Living with this pain has not only ruined his physical health but his mental health too. It has impacted his ability to work and most of the relationships in his life, both family and otherwise.

Please help me raise awareness and sponsor me (if you can spare the money) towards donations of to these great charities. Thank you for your support.
