Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 30th March 2011 our little girl, Poppy, was born at North Tees Hospital. She developed very low blood sugars and was finding feeding really hard work. She also needed a course of antibiotics due to a risk of infection.
This led to Poppy needing to stay in the Neonatal Unit for the first few days of her life.
During this time, we realised this is such a important part of the hospital and if it had not been for the unit Poppy may not be with us today.
Bearing all of this in mind we were thinking what can we do to say thank you. We have been into the ward and thanked the staff for all of their hard work and took in some knitted hats from Poppy’s grandma.
But this still did not seem enough. So I decided that in March 2012 I will take the challenge and backpack the 109 miles of the Cleveland Way. Starting in Helmsley and ending in Filey.
To raise funds and also awareness of this very important unit.
