Story
We have chosen to fundraise for GOSH because of the incredible work it does to care for children and young people.
On the 22nd-23rd of March, from midday to midday, Leweston school will be holding a 24 hour ‘triathlon’ consisting of 10 hours of dancing, 8 hours of cycling, and 6 hours of running. The entire school will be involved from Reception to Upper Sixth as well as the staff.
I have organised this in memory of my friend Emma Rose Hatchley whom I had know all my life. She very sadly lost her battle with a rare and severe illness in 2014, aged 15. Her family lived in Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital for almost 4 months while doctors, surgeons and nurses fought to save her.
During this time Emma was cared for by nurses, doctors and surgeons across over 30 departments. Our grand total will go to Team Hatch which will be used to help fund advanced life saving medical equipment, child and family support services, pioneering research and the rebuilding and refurbishment of the Hospital.
