Story

Last year, I did the GNR for the 1st time in 40 years and it was torture!! Everyone said I'd love it, but, I hated it!! I injured my calf before, so, couldn't train. When I finished, I swore down never again. However, I've been tempted because I want to run it injury free, try to enjoy it  and finish at South Shields like I did back in 1982.

But, most importantly, I'd like to help raise money to give someone less fortunate, with no or partial vision, the opportunity to own a Guide Dog. Guide Dogs offer friendship and companionship and give someone the confidence and trust that allows them to get out and about when otherwise they would not be able to. Guide Dogs are wonderful creatures who can really make a difference in someones life.

However, they're not cheap!! It costs over £50,000 to fund a guide dog from birth to retirement. Any donation, no matter how much will be massively appreciated. 1000 people sponsoring £1 would hit the £1000 target. Please share this and ask friends, family and strangers to sponsor me £1 so we can all play a part and help make a difference to someone less fortunate.

Sincere thanks, Clayton

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
