Many of you may know that i have taken up cycling as a hobby to get fit recently and have been cycling to work which is a 15 mile round trip and ive been biking at weekends for fun.

well i thought it would be a good idea to put all the effort and energy into doing something for charity. so i am going to do The Great Nottingham bike ride 2012 which has 4 courses of different distances starting from 4 miles up to 100 miles so im going for the middle one (this time) which is just under 50 miles.

now the charity i have chosen is cancer research as i have had family and friends who have fallen victim to the disease.

its sad to think that cancer has or will affect everyones lives be it yourselves or someone you know. so i think its important that we can donate money to cancer research to help them cure this life threatening disease.

im doing this in memory of my sister in law Sharon Ford, my grandad, and friend Dave Cain and Mr Beale
