Story
SO. This year I was diagnosed with a few chronic illnesses and spent a fair bit of time being poked and prodded in the hospital. Whilst I've always fiercely believed in the importance of the Cavendish cause (working there helped), this year has given me a whole new context. I understand more than ever how important it is to have support when your body is doing scary/confusing things. I've found it hard enough, and it's absolutely nothing compared to what people living with cancer face up to every day.
The 5x5 challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity to help Cavendish in all the work they do, as well as get me off my butt and looking after my body as best I can. I'd love it if you could donate and help me make a big impact!
A bit about the charity, for the uninitiated: Cavendish Cancer Care is a Sheffield charity that provides therapies and support for individuals affected by cancer. This includes people with cancer, and their loved ones. They provide all their services free of charge and do this with barely any government funding. Cavendish is a lifeline for so many people and really deserving of every penny that's donated.
The people who turn to Cavendish for support say it better than I ever could, so head to https://cavcare.org.uk/news/stories/ if you want to read more. :)
PS the official 5x5 challenge is on boxing day until 9th January, but as I'll be out and about visiting family (away from my local gym) I'm doing it now instead!
