Story
As many of our friends and family know, on 9th February 2020, our dad, Paul Lind, sadly passed away. In his final weeks, the support that Martlets gave our family at home was incredible.
During his last days, Martlets hospice enabled us to be with him the entire time. The care and support from the staff at the hospice helped to make the experience for both Dad and us peaceful and loving.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Martlets' community nurses have been working harder than ever to provide essential care and support to local people. It's been a hugely challenging time for the team and the community, and demand for their support has never been higher. Martlets usual fundraising activities have been hit hard by the pandemic, with fundraising events being cancelled and their shops closed.
So we decided that we wanted to raise money as a way to support Martlets and help support families living with a terminal illness.
Before signing up for the Brighton Marathon, the furthest either of us had ever run was about 5km, but we wanted to do something that would take us out of our comfort zone…... really really far out of it!!!
I know things aren't easy at the moment, but anything you can donate will help Martlets nurses keep caring and supporting local people when they need it the most. Thank you so much in advance for your generosity.
