Story
We, Amey, Char and Shannon, have come up with the idea to have a go at driving our dad's classic lorries from Dorset to Malvern. This is to attend the Welland steam Rally which is taking place from the 27th - 29Th July.
We have all known each other since we were very young and are always up for a challenge, especially when it comes to driving the lorries both modern and classic.
We all have connections in the Haulage industry and attend social events, but have never driven this far before with no power steering!!!
After gaining confidence we decided to start pushing the boat out and challenge ourselves with our driving. We thought this would be good to try and promote and encourage woman into the industry. We are also lucky enough to have the support of the "RHA" behind us for the event.
Our dads are all very eccentric and we are certainly following in their foot-steps.
We believe while you are healthy and able enough you have got to give these things a try. We have seen first-hand that it is never a guarantee to be healthy and able to do everything you wish at any age.
The charity we have chosen to raise money for supports families that have been affected by MS - The Osborne Centre, Bournemouth.
The support the volunteers give the families is amazing. MS can affect the young and old. They have helped friends and family close to us which is why we would love to support such a wonderful charity.
So wish us luck and give us a wave if you see us!
Amey, Char and Shannon.
