Story
Addenbrookes Hospital in the centre of Cambridge is one of the countries leading hospitals. It has a world renowned reputation as a Cambridge University teaching hospital as well as a leading national centre for special treatment, biomedical research and has 1 of 5 academic health science centres in the UK.
This particular charity means a great deal to me as the hospital is currently focusing on a ‘Cancer Campaign’ to raise money for Specialist Counselling, a new 3D Scanner and so much more.
Cancer has hit my family hard over the years: My Maternal Grandmother with her battle with Breast Cancer; My Maternal Grandfather with his battle with Pancreatic Cancer; My Father is currently battling a Brain Tumour.
With each family member, the hospital have been more than we could have hoped in terms of the support and care they gave my loved ones. I was so reassured to know that the hospital went through all the options with them but also gave a personal touch to the care.
I have always tried to support Cancer Research with participation in Race for Life and my family taking donations to the hospital following my Grandparents passing.
With my Father still battling, I want to do as much as I can to help the hospital and any other family members that are going through something similar.
I’m so glad I’m able to do this and bring my work colleagues along with me!
