*UPDATED to 100 miles and £5,000 fundraising target due to the phenomenal support already! *
Having recently gone through the pain and heartache of watching my Dad battle with prostate cancer, it is abundantly clear that we all need to do our bit to maintain the brilliant work and research that is being completed to better understand this awful disease and ways to treat it. My Dad was one of the lucky ones and appears to have won the battle but the war is still very much in full flow for us and unfortunately thousands of other families in the UK.
I was fortunate enough to be given the chance to see behind the scenes during my Dad’s treatment and I was blown away by the work of everyone involved and the sophistication of the equipment being used. Clearly this is all not cheap so I am going to do my bit to raise as much as possible to help with this great cause. Now more than ever before, our support is needed to ensure that research into testing and treatment remains well funded to hopefully ensure that any families that are impacted by prostate cancer in the future are as fortunate as my family.
I have set a fairly modest target and I encourage you all to dig deep and give as much as you can as I pound the pavement during October.
I will be creating a playlist of songs for the challenge so, as an added incentive, with every donation, if you nominate a song I will add it whatever the genre, era or artist. So be creative!
Thank you
Chris
Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. The impact of the coronavirus crisis means our life-saving research is at risk. Men have never needed your support more to protect research into better tests and treatments to stop prostate cancer being a killer.
