Story
On Saturday 25th June 2022 a team of 40+ volunteers from Clarion will walk the Yorkshire 3 Peaks to raise money for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF).
The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24 miles (38.6km), and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
After the £2000 raised in 2021 - we are looking to go bigger and better in 2022 with almost 3 times the walkers. There will be the same camaraderie, regular updates, hope that all will finish before nightfall and Dan Shaw's continued passion for petrol station meatballs as a hiking snack.
CHSF are a fantastic charity which supports babies, children and adults born with a heart problem. During this challenging time, CHSF continues to provide valuable services to support their young patients and their families.
This includes:
• INR home blood testing kits allowing vulnerable children and their families to be shielded from contracting COVID-19 through the provision of home testing equipment.
• Accommodation, travel and living expenses and emergency grants for families while their child is staying at the heart ward at Leeds Children's Hospital.
• Food and toiletry hampers for families while their child is staying in the hospital.
• Virtual wellbeing treatments for parents, that include mindfulness and dealing with stress, to help parents manage their mental health.
Our BeingCharitable committee is dedicated to raising as much as we can to support this Yorkshire based charity.
The work of the CHSF has affected many of our colleagues, clients and friends and we look forward to continuing to support them in 2022.
Please dig deep and thank you so much for any donation no matter the amount.
