Story

Hello and thank you for visiting our page!

My name is Akshay Mistry, the Leader of the Claret
Mountaineers! We are back again for our third adventure, this time we are
tackling the highest peak in England…. Scafell Pike! Situated in the beautiful
Lake District standing at 978m high (3,209 ft). We will climbing the mountain
on the Wasdale route which will take around 4- 5 hours to get up and down.
Scafell Pike may be the shortest of the three national peaks, however it is not
to be underestimated with a steep ricky incline from the start to the finish.

We are heading to the North of England 30 strong and looking
to raise £10,000 for Northampton Town FC Community Trust to deliver more
accessible programmes in the Local Community.

Our team is made up of current and
former participants, staff and volunteers who have benefitted greatly from the
Health & Wellbeing, Disability Football
and the Women’s and Girls
Football programmes and this is our opportunity for us to
do our part as fans and patrons of the club and Community Trust to make a
difference to people’s lives for the better.

Northampton Town FC Community Trust’s vision is “To create a
healthy, happy and connected Northamptonshire”. NTFC CT are looking to achieve
their mission and aims through delivery in three of our four key areas:

  • Education & Skills
  • Health
  • Disability, Inclusion & Participation

Since our establishment in 2021 we have raised a total of £19,596
from which Northampton Town FC Community Trust have been able to;

  • Continue the delivery and growth of the Multi
    Disability Football Club
  • Set up of CP multi disability football team as
part of the ongoing growth of the Multi disability football club
  • Continue the delivery of quarterly every player counts
    football festivals
  • Development of the Health and Wellbeing hub to
tackle current needs of the local community in Northampton
  • Set up of the new Wellbeing and Sport programmes
    in the County
  • Continuation of the delivery of the Fit Cobblers
    programme for another year
  • Continue the growth of the Women’s and Girls
    Pathway

To give you a little more context on what the money raised
from this fundraiser will go towards, please see a small breakdown of much it
costs to run some of the new and existing programmes in the community.

£50 is the cost to hire a venue  for an hour to provide safe space for a child
or young adult with a disability to engage with others who have similar needs
to have fun, make friends and participate in a game of football.

£120 is the cost to purchase workbooks for three blocks
worth of Fit Cobblers participants

£500 will pay for the Community Trust to secure a venue for
half a year of Powerchair football sessions and also the total amount for the
delivery of Blind football sessions, which is another new pathway that is being
created by the Community Trust

£750 is the total amount it would cost to set up a Cerebral
Palsy Football Team to join our Multi Disability Football Club on Friday
evenings and enough to train volunteers to become qualified coaches to lead the
team

£800 raised out of the total amount will go towards the wet
up and delivery of quarterly football festivals for the Every Player Counts
programme, which has been set up to provide a safe space and platform for men
suffering with Mental Health issues

£1000 is enough to fund the ongoing expansion of our Women’s
and Girls programme, with the set up and delivery of football sessions for
young girls

£3000-£5000 is the target amount for Northampton Town FC
Community Trust to set up and establish a health and wellbeing hub within
Northampton and another part of the county where a partnership with
organisations such as Man v Fat, the Local Authorities, emergency services,
Northamptonshire Sport and medical centres can help create a platform to target
and reduce the rates of obesity, diabetes, heart conditions and other health
risks within the area.

For every £1 donated by you, you can truly be part the
change we are looking to make in the community and help us achieve our mission
of a healthier and happier Northampton. We appreciate all the help we can get
no matter how little as even the smallest deeds can change the lives for many.

Thank you for taking the time out to read this story, your
generous donation and being part of our journey
