Story
Firstly Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
Cancer in all its forms cruelly takes away the people closest to us without any consideration to the families and friends. Sadly cancer, in particular breast cancer has seemed to have affected my life and the people I love around me. Some have lost their fight, others have come through. I am running in memory of my mother who lost her fight to breast cancer 20 years ago.
I truly believe raising money will help people be diagnosed sooner as well as increase the success of treatment.
Advances in early detection and
treatment means that fewer people are dying from breast cancer, yet the number
of cases in England has increased by 90 per cent since 1971.
We know that breast cancer survival in the UK lags behind the best countries in
Europe. If we brought our breast cancer survival rates in line with the best in
Europe it is estimated that 1,000 more lives a year could be saved in England
alone. That’s just over one in ten of the women who die from breast cancer each
year.
Now wouldn't that be amazing?
