Marathon in a Month for Beyond Ourselves, 1 November 2020
Team: SJ SOUTH
As with all charities, as a result of Covid-19, we have missed many fundraising opportunities and scheduled events. This campaign, without apology, is to raise the funds we require to keep our daily needs met - not for any one specific thing.

Story

During this pandemic, the schools we partner with in Zambia closed and, in accordance with the government regulations, the feeding programmes stopped as well. Even though the schools were shut we continued to contribute to all staff salaries at our partner schools at this time as we are aware how desperate many of their home situations would be without this much needed income. We have also continued to mentor teachers during this time via video and WhatsApp. However, with the absence of our regular UK school and business fundraising and the cancelled marathons and bike rides, we have an obvious gap in our budget to cover the school staff salaries. We are asking that you would partner with us to "bridge the gap'". We know everyone's financial situation is different, but for those of you who have found that during this time you have saved money on your commute and after work socialising(!), we'd be very grateful if you would consider sending us a donation.
