Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in the Moonlit Memories walk for the first time this year in memory of my Dad who sadly passed away on June 1st 2013 from Bowel Cancer. This was a sudden and short illness after only being diagnosed in February and, although he underwent surgery in March, it was too late as the cancer had spread too far.
For the last 2 weeks of his life he spent them being well-cared for and looked after at the Rowan's Hospice. My Mum and I cannot thank them enough for the wonderful care they gave my Dad and us to make sure that, although he suffered in his final weeks, he passed away peacefully and as comfortable as he could be.
My Dad was a kind and generous man and asked us to make sure that we gave something back to the Rowan's as a thank you. We have already donated to them in memory of him but I also told him I would go onto fundraise whenever the opportunity allowed to make sure the good work they did for my Dad does not go unnoticed and that they can continue to look after sick patients and their families in the future. This is for my Dad, thank you.
