Story
On Saturday 7th May I rode 109 miles with Alice and Tom in the Carten100 event. With over 6000 feet of climbing and 12 hours in the saddle, this was a huge challenge for us and we'd love to raise some more sponsorship beyond the £3669 target.
Please give whatever you can. Just a few £££ that you might otherwise spend on a coffee and cake, a glass of wine or a pint. It all helps. More if you can. Even though we have reached the target, I am continuing to donate all my fees from inspired2learn webinars. I hope you can help me. The Wiltshire Hospice receives little funding and for many months during the pandemic, charity shops were closed and big fundraising events put on hold.
I took on this challenge because I want to help families facing unimaginable heartbreak - the knowledge that their child may not live into adulthood. Julia’s House provides frequent, flexible care for children with life-limited or life-threatening conditions to give their parents a much-needed break. Amazingly, Julia’s House has to raise 95 per cent of the money it needs each year to run this vital service which is why I have chosen to support them. Your kind sponsorship will make a life-changing difference to these families.
All the money I raise will remain in Wiltshire to support the Devizes hospice and local families.
This was a big challenge for me - After the real LEJOG was canceled in 2020, I initially gave myself until Christmas 2021 to clock up 3,369 miles. Unfortunately in the autumn I was injured and then there was a bad spell of weather (and other such excuses) so I got a bit behind. The challenge continues into the winter of 2023!
