Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My new year's resolution this year was to get fit and be as healthy as I was before having my first child nearly 10 years ago. Both my parents have run marathons, so if they can do it, surely a wee half marathon wouldn't be so bad!!
It didn't go too well at first as by the second week in January I had fallen on black ice and sprained both my wrists. Serious doubt was setting in as I was lying on the sofa drinking wine through a straw!
2 months later I got back too it and am on target for the Lisburn half marathon on the 18th June. I have a feeling it might kill me but I am going to give it my best shot and hopefully with your help raise some money for a great cause.
The children at Kip McGrath Lisburn have teamed up with the NSPCC before to raise money and it is such a great cause we wanted to try and raise a bit more. The NSPCC's vision is the end cruelty to children in the UK. They campaign to change the law, provide Childline and the NSPCC helpline service, offer advice to adults and much more.
Locally they have service centres in Foyle, Craigavon and Belfast which provide direct services to children and families across the region. The centres are designed to be places where children can feel safe and supported and better able to overcome the trauma they have experience. They also provide a service to support young prosecution witnesses.
Please support this great cause as knowing people have actually donated some of their hard earned pennies may be the only thing that gets me to the finish line!
