Story
Domestic Abuse is so prevalent in our communities and the impact widespread.
Almost 1 in 3 women aged 16-59 will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.
2 women a week are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales alone.
41% of UK girls aged 14 to 17 in an intimate relationship experience some form of sexual violence from their partner.
From my time working in safeguarding I feel so grateful that ESDAS exists. I have seen first-hand the devastating impact of domestic abuse and the incredible benefit of support ESDAS offer survivors, as well as children who have witnessed abuse and other affected family members.
ESDAS need sponsorship to continue to offer services such as counselling, specific play therapy for children, as well as therapeutic work for adult survivors and the provision of items that support safety and recovery.
After 5 years of not being able to run, my trainers are back where they should be and on Sunday 13th February 2022 I will be entering the 10K London Winter Run for ESDAS – I invite you to either join me on the run or donate any amount to support ESDAS to continue doing what they do best.
For more information on ESDAS please visit www.esdas.org.uk or follow them on facebook, instagram, linked in and twitter where you can share their posts and raise awareness of the support available.
