Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running my first ever official half marathon to raise money for the MS Society Scotland in the Scottish Half Marathon on the 19th of September 2021.
I've chosen to raise money for MS because my friend has been fighting this cruel neurological disease that has no cure for a number of years now. Recently she was diagnosed with secondary progressive MS, this is when the illness continues to get worse without the likely hood of relapses where your symptoms can get worse but then get better. I am truly amazed at the strength and determination she has to fight this every day and I never hear her complain about it.
I'm raising money for the MS Society Scotland because they are doing incredible work for MS sufferers in Scotland. If you don't know much about MS :
- MS primarily effects teenagers and adults in their early 20s and male MS progresses more aggressively;
- It affects every aspect of a suffers life;
- Depression affects almost every MS fighter as they can feel hopeless;
- There is no cure and no definitive reason as yet to what causes MS and so far there is no evidence that it is hereditary or linked to genetics.
I'll keep my page updated through my training and I'm grateful to my friend Brian, a running coach who is donating is time to create my training plan and support me to get safely across the finish line!
Thanks for your donations to help them work towards finding a way to stop this horrible disease.
