Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well where to start, I hate doing this type of thing...
I was diagnosed with Lupus 3 years ago whilst working abroad. Lupus is a complex auto-immune disease that can affect any part of the body. Basically, in Lupus patients the antibodies that are supposed to protect you and fight infection actually attack your good cells. Lupus is a hard disease to live with due to the unexpected 'flare' ups and the fact that there is no current cure. However, I do feel extremely lucky that my symptoms are well controlled by my medication and I am able to live a 'normal' life.
I'm running the London Marathon to raise awareness and in turn hopefully help people receive a quicker and more cohesive diagnosis, as it took me 7 years to get the correct diagnosis myself.
Lupus UK raise awareness and fund research into new drugs and treatments to hopefully one day find a cure.
Thank you so much for reading this and any donations you can afford will be gratefully appreciated :)
