Story
Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running the Adidas Women's Challenge as part of the team for The Stroke Association. As many of you will know, my wonderful Dad passed away in March this year having suffered a massive stroke.
Dad was a very keen runner and sportsman in his youth. I, it has to be said, was not! Running this race will be a huge challenge for me. I completed the Race for Life (just) earlier this year but am determined to do my Dad proud and improve my time and effort on 06 September.
The Stroke Association is a wonderful charity who support those who suffer from strokes. They offer advice on rehabilitation, have volunteers who assist stroke victims, fund research into prevention and treatment of strokes and so much more. Their research is crucial in providing evidence to help convince NHS commissioners to develop improved clinical services and care for stroke patients.
A stroke can hit at any time at any age. It is an assault on the body and can be devastating for the patient and those around.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
For those of you who knew Dad, think of his wonderful sense of humour and that laugh and what he might say about me running 5km...!
Thanks for stopping by.
Love Clare x
P.S. My target is £80 as set by The Stroke Association but I really hope to raise far more than that.
