For my challenge I will be taking to the gorgeous crystal clear waters of Capernwray Dive Centre and I'll be swimming 500m.  This doesn't really sound like too much of a challenge. I've been swimming there nearly every week since June this year and I can swim further than 500m so, what is the challenge?  Why am I asking people to sponsor me?

Well, swim time is 7pm and it's on 1st November so it will be dark and cold!  Yes, there are fireworks, and hot chocolate after the swim, but it will be my first venture into open water in the cold and the dark, so I reckon that deserves some sponsorship. The course will be marked by illuminated buoys and all of the swimmers get a glo stick to wear.

I would like to raise some money for Tia Greyhound and Lurcher rescue. This charity works tirelessly to find forever homes for greyhounds & lurchers once they have given them the TLC and medical attention that a lot of them need when they arrive at Tia.  My own dog Daisy was rescued by Tia and trusted to me.  Without Tia she'd have been put to sleep rather than living a long and happy life with me and my other greyhound Teddy for 10 years.

In addition to the dogs Tia also now help heavy horses.
