Story
I am taking part in Kew the Run Half Marathon on Sunday 10 April 2022 and I will be running in memory of my friend Anees Saqui who died suddenly on 11 March 2022 (aged only 43). Anees was an incredible guy with an incredible zest for life and a smile to match. He was a young, fit and energetic individual and he was loved by so many across the globe. I am proud to be running in his memory on Sunday.
Those who know me, know I like to run, but half marathons are certainly not my penchant! This will not be easy; but with grit, determination and a lot of sweat, I will cross that finish line.
Anees' family have chosen 'Humanity First' as their chosen charity; helping to make a lasting difference to honour his memory.
Anyone, who is anyone will know about the Ukraine Crisis. It is an emotionally and distressing situation with huge levels of uncertainty for those living, fleeing or watching the crisis unfold. The ongoing violence is resulting in family separation, desperation to reach a peaceful solution and bring normality to life.
We must all act now to protect those in crisis. Humanity First's will use your donation to reach those in need, including:
• Providing food, first aid, clean water, shelter support, warm clothing, hygiene parcels, and medicines.
• Supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities.
• Training people up in life-saving first aid.
• Helping families stay in contact with each other.
• Helping to repair vital infrastructure
