Story

On the 11th September Vanessa and I are taking on a 26 mile Trek at Stonehenge for the Alzheimer’s Society; made even more challenging as Vanessa continues to recover from breaking her ankle in April
21!

Dementia is not a natural part of getting older, yet I’m sure we all know someone who has suffered with this disease.  My husband’s Nanna and now my Dad who was just 64 when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

My Dad is now 70, it is so distressing for his devoted wife, family and friends to watch him deteriorate, feel confused, anxious and struggle with his speech.  Sometimes I’m not sure he knows who I am, yet you can still feel the warmth and love; he still gives the best hugs ever. You should see his face light up when he has a pint of Bass, a cheese savoury sandwich or an ice-cream.

We have to try and stop this devastating disease, any donation you could give would mean the world, to support other families trying to live with dementia and to help find a cure to prevent future generations having to worry about Dementia.
