Story
Hello All,
I am officially a Paris Marthoner in 3hrs: 54mins: 36secs !
I did not think I would be able to do it in under 4 hours but thanks to the amazing support and incentives I am delighted to have completed the marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support. If I raise £2000 it will pay for 2 nurses to look after a cancer patient and their family for a week - please do all you can to help support cancer relief.
I can continue receiving donations for 2 weeks after the event - until 20th April so do spread the word!
I decided to run the Paris Marathon this year after my best friend Annabel's Mother passed away in June 2013 - the lovely Mama Sue. MacMillan helped their family just as they helped mine when my Nanny passed away a few years ago. MacMillan's aim is that noone should face cancer on their own.Without MacMillan things could have been even more difficult so I wanted to do my bit to give something back.
I know it says I am running for DUCK which is our Durham University Charities Kommittee but the money is actually going to MacMillan Cancer Support (click here for website). Macmillan help by sending nurses to the homes of those terminally ill from cancer, and also helping the family around the house, to learn how to cope and be there as real support at the difficult time.
I am running the marathon with 3 girls from my college at Durham too. The Marathon Dream Team is Aine, Izzie, Danae and Me - and we have got lots of plans for fundraising events over the next 5 months from Come Dine With Me evenings to Christmas Carols, and of course good old bake sales.
We thought it would be fun to do the Marathon together as we are all super competitive and thought we could raise some money for our charities as well as having a laugh along the way!

PLEASE DO NOT SELECT TO ADD GIFT AID. DUCK (Durham Charity Comm) say HMRC will get grumpy so save any issues later on and just thank you for your donation.
