Story
Here we go! I'm popping on my running shoes to run one of the most prestigious marathons, Berlin! The Berlin Marathon is no small task but I'm so excited, and a little bit nervous, to be doing it all in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.
For the past few years, this charity has become very close to my heart, having lost family members to dementia, which I know far too many of my family and friends have also experienced. Those who have battled this journey, both directly and indirectly, inspired me to take on this challenge.
Dementia is the UK's biggest killer and there is currently no cure. Every three minutes someone is diagnosed with dementia. Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. The work they do is fundamental for developing our understanding of dementia, helping those who are diagnosed with it, and providing support to those who need it.
I will be very grateful for any donations, big or small, as I want to smash my target. I share my late Granpie's competitive nature! Thank you.
