Story

Hi Everyone

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 18th September 2011 I am taking part in the Great North Run....Yes I am going to run all 13 miles haha!!

I am running for Percy Hedley Foundation. Their purpose is to promote the rights, needs and aspirations of disabled people through specialist, quality services.

The Foundation meets the needs of disabled people with cerebral palsy, communication impairments, sensory impairments and complex learning, social care and therapeutic needs.

They offer a wide range of children services and adult services as well as a Sports Academy. Children’s services include Nursery, family support services, a school for parents, Percy Hedley Primary School and Secondary Department, the Northern Counties School and residential and respite care.

Adult services include residential services, adult day care services, Northern Counties College and employability projects as well as Conductive Education for people with Parkinson's Disease.

The Sports Academy offers a very wide range of disability sports and its facilities are used not only by many local disabled groups but also for regional and national events.

I can imagine lots of people you know will be taking part in the GNR and asking for your sponsorship but I would really appreciate it if you could sponsor me for the Percy Hedley Foundation. However small the donation is, it will all go towards a very worthy cause helping to improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I have been training hard and will continue to do so up until the race. I am determined to finish the race and with a good time!!

Thank you very much for your support,

Clare xxx
