4 years ago me and my family were given the devastating news that my 74 year old Dad had Alzheimer's. We have watched him deteriorate over that time with his speech, his confidence, his smile and his pride. He gets very confused and is very frightened and scared a lot of the time.
We are all dreading the day he can no longer remember our names or our faces, but we know, sadly, that time will come.
So my personal attempt to help fight this horrible and cruel disease is to complete a different challenge every month in 2019.
My monthly challenges have been planned around specific facts relating to Alzheimer's and Dementia - from climbing the UK's highest mountain to kayaking blindfolded, my aim is to raise awareness and vital funding to help beat 'The UK's biggest killer' so others don't have to experience the same pain, suffering and anguish this brings.
No matter how small or big your donation is, it will be huge in the fight against Alzheimer's.
