Story

On the 2nd October 2022, I get to fulfil a life time ambition of running the London Marathon raising funds for one of Accord’s Community Charity Partners – The Calvert Trust, who have a centre based on
Exmoor.

The London Marathon has been on my “bucket list” for about 15 years but I’ve never secured a place through the ballot system before or with a charity due to the places being really limited. This literally is a once in a life time opportunity and I’m feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness about taking part.

I thought it might be helpful to share some information on the amazing work that
the Calvert Trust do and why the fundraising is so important:

The Calvert Trust is an award-winning accessible activity centre in Devon, offering exciting breaks for people with physical, learning, behavioural and sensory disabilities.

“It’s what you CAN do that counts” – so they find a way to accommodate everyone, regardless of the severity and complex needs of disabilities.

Any support would be greatly appreciated to raise funds for this brilliant community charity partner. I have already
started the training with a very detailed plan leading up to the big day including regular physio sessions to minimise any injury along the way!

Thank you for your support!
