Story
I am running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 8th October to raise £350 for Tommy's (the baby charity). Every pound & penny counts to making a difference to the amazing work that Tommy's do.
I'll be running extremely hard and fast because the lovely people at Tommy's work extremely hard to support and care for parents & prospective parents no matter where they are on their pregnancy journey,
I am running for Tommy's because 18 years ago my lovely son Jedd was born prematurely and we were extremely fortunate that the amazing maternity team at Harrogate Hospital acted quickly and with incredible skill to save his and my life (it was a real horror story and even now when I think about the collective sigh in the room after the very long quiet pause when he screamed his first breath it brings a tear to my eye).
Tommy's are there to support parents no matter what they are dealing with and they also invest in research to better understand why things go wrong.
The run will be tough, the training is tough, and you can bet it will be fuelled with lots of cake and cake bakes!
The actual run will be fuelled by good music - if you donate £10 or more, please feel free to text me a good run themed song and I'll add it to my play list. Nothing too emotional though - I'll sure to be crying on this one!
