Story
I'm running the London Landmarks 2019 for Bloodwise to raise awareness of Blood cancer and to support our friend Pete McCleave who has been diagnosed with an incurable blood cancer; Myeloma. Pete is a 40 year old husband to Jenny (the most positive and bubbly person you could ever hope to meet) and Dad to Max (8) and Seb (6) - exactly the same age as our children. Pete is also an Ironman and all round great bloke who has been given 7 years to live without a stem cell transplant from a genetic match. Instead of lying down and accepting his fate, Pete has pledged to get 10,000 new stem cell donors onto the register and is making it his mission to raise as much awareness as is humanly possible. I'm running the London Landmarks half marathon to raise funds for more research into Blood cancer and more awareness of how easy it is to get yourself on the register and potentially save a life, just by swabbing your cheek. Please go to www.10000donors.com to read more about Pete's story, and if you are able, please sponsor me so that together we can help save more lives. Thank you, Claire x
