Story
I will be running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on 31st May 2015 in memory of my friend Claire Bywater.
Claire died suddenly and unexpectedly soon after her 41st birthday, last July. Claire was an inspiration to many; a force of nature, who grabbed life with both hands and made sure she enjoyed it. She was diagnosed with MS before I met her, and bore her diagnosis with dignity. She had a thirst for knowledge about the condition, and was keen to be involved in research. The MS society supported Claire and her family through the difficult times, which is why I am raising money on their behalf.
For those who know me know I am not a natural athlete, by any stretch of the imagination. Training for the half marathon started last August when I could not run for more than a minute at a time.
To complete the 13.1 miles of the half marathon will be the culmination of my personal challenge in memory of Claire.
I hope that you will be able to contribute what you can to this worthy charity, and support me in what will be one of my biggest life challenges.
