Story

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.

We've joined together to raise money in memory of our son, grandson, brother, nephew, friend and hero - Lukas.

On 27th March 2013, after only a few days of mild symptoms, Doctors at Bolton Hospital diagnosed Lukas with a brain tumour. Lukas was transferred to Manchester where the tumour was confirmed as medulloblastoma - an aggressive malignant cancer.

Lukas faced surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy over a gruelling summer for him. But he faced it with strength, courage, smiles and spirit.

Lukas lost his brave fight on the 12th October 2013. Team Lukas are coming together to run the Leeds 10k in tribute for Lukas and to raise money for some of the charities that made such a difference during his battle. In September, Lukas' Daddy will run the Cologne Marathon.

Here's a few words about one of those special charities: MOLLY OLLY'S WISHES is a charity set up by the family of a little girl called  Molly Ollerenshaw. In memory of their brave daughter, they  provide gifts and wishes to sick children like Lukas. Imagine the joy on Lukas' face when his own iPad arrived. He loved it! He watched his beloved Thomas films and was able to play games with his friends as he wasn't always up to running around with them. This is a small charity run by a family that makes a huge difference to many lives. We want to repay the kindness they showed to Lukas.
