Yes its true, im off to India in September this year to volunteer! For those of you that dont know me:
Hello! My name is Claire Jennings. I am 17 years old and am in my final year of high school in Edinburgh. I am currently studying Advanced Higher History, Advanced Higher Modern Studies and Higher Art.
After months of deciding which gap year company to go with on my year out, I finally decided Project Trust. After an intense 4 day selection course on the Isle of Coll, I have been selected by Project Trust to spend a year teaching and working with children and young people in South INDIA.
Project Trust has various teaching projects in the South of India, in the states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
In addition to teaching English, Social Studies and History in local primary and secondary schools, I will also be involved in secondary projects ranging from social care programmes with street children to HIV/AIDS awareness workshops.
Project Trust is a registered charity which has sent young volunteers to over 20 different countries all over the world for nearly 40 years. Project Trust’s aim is to provide the volunteer with an educational experience different to those in which they have grown up and supporting and working alongside local people in their communities. The project feels this is really only possible if volunteers spend a whole year away, so they can learn and appreciate the different cultures and values and offer a needed contribution.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficent way to sponsor me : ProjectTrust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank-you very much for taking the time to read my page and any donations, no matter how small are greatly appreciated.
