Story
In June 2019 I tore my ACL, and had reconstruction surgery seven weeks later. The Grapplethon takes place 7.5 months after my surgery, so I won't be able to try and grapple for 24 hours - but I *can* attempt to provide sports massage over the course of the event!
I am committing to spending the full 24 hours on or near the mats, providing sports massage to keep grapplers going, and jumping on the mats myself for some light drilling during the early hours of the morning so others can go and get some rest.
Truth be told, I would much rather be on the mats, but I will keep in my heart and mind the refugee women we are supporting, who I am sure would rather be in their home countries surrounded by family and friends. Now, more than ever, we need to support each other through our respective struggles, even if they don't look the same as our own.
Any and all donations are deeply appreciated. Better yet, join us at LA Gym in Bristol and come get some sports massage for a noble cause!
