Thanks for visiting my Race for Life page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online - it would mean so much to me!
My uncle was diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately lost his fight a few years ago. I always remember how positive he was throughout his fight and even when it got tough, he was always cheery and upbeat. When we lost him I was devastated and have always said I will do my best to raise money and try to help make cancer a disease of the past.
So since January I have been trying to lose the 'christmas' pounds- ie the fat I have year round, yet insist it's purely christmas weight-and I thought, during a horrendous 'run', why don't I do this for a good cause? Why don't i do this in memory of an amazing and inspiring man? Of course, the first charity that came to mind was cancer research. I had also recently found out that my friends mum had been diagnosed with cancer and I felt like it was time to make a change and really fight this thing! As you all know, running is not my forte, I am really challenging myself running in the rain and freezing cold weather to train for this. Anything you can donate will make such a difference and would honestly mean the world to me.
Me and my mum are doing this together and I think without her I wouldn't be able to do it, she inspires me so much. So if you have a spare £1 or so, jump over to her page too! Team Godfrey's woohoo!
