Story
Well, I did it. I completed the London Marathon on Sunday 13th April 2008 in a time of 3 hours, 50 minutes - much better than I expected! It was also much harder than I expected with the pain in my legs from Mile 19 to the end pretty intense. The pain is still with me but the achievement of finishing and a few well earned glasses of champagne after the finish helped dull it :)
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) marathon team has to date raised over £124,250 and there is still another month or so to donate. My fiance has had Type 1 diabetes since he was 13 so this is a charity that we feel very strongly about and who are doing great work in their research for a cure. If you would like more information on the charity, please visit their website www.jdrf.org.uk.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. (Please, please, please if you are a UK taxpayer tick this box as it costs absolutely nothing to Gift Aid your sponsorship).
So it is not too late to sponsor me now! My email is cemersonjones@hotmail.com if people would to contact me or would like further information.
Many thanks for the support of everyone who has donated.
