Story
Hi everyone!
Thank you so much for all your support and sponsorship. As you can see I've exceeded my target which is fantastic! The race went really well - much better than expected! Having been suffering with a cold the previous week which had hampered my training I wasn't that confident, but on the day everything went really well and I finished in 52.17 minutes. I didn't even find the big hill at 4km and 9km too bad! There was an excellent atmosphere and my mum and Mathis were there to cheer me on which was great!
Thank you again
Claire xx
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am finally taking the plunge and participating in the Wells 10km fun run on May 29th 2011 in order to raise money for WaterAid. Previous years attempts have been thwarted due to major events in my life coinciding with the run (getting married in 2009 and having baby Mathis in 2010 - May is a busy month in our family), but this year there is no excuse!
This is the first time I have participated in a running event and although I have done running on the treadmill at the gym I have recently discovered that running outside is a lot harder...there are hills to contend with for a start!
I have chosen to run to raise money for WaterAid, a charity which transforms lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world’s poorest communities. 884 million people in the world do not have access to safe water and for just £15 WaterAid can provide one person in Africa or Asia with a lasting supply of safe, clean water, sanitation and hygiene education.
Any donations would be gratefully received and donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate they'll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Many Thanks
Claire
