The challenge
We don't mind a nice view.... As long as suitably enclosed away from the edge with a large barrier and no opportunity to look down. Dangling our legs into thin air over the side of a 110ft water tower, clutching a rope is a petrifying and mad prospect. But abseil down it we will, in the name of the charity Accuro.
Why do this on a lovely May bank holiday Sunday?
Good Q. This is one as sisters we have already pondered and will continue to give much thought to as we stand at the top of that tower... abseiling seems totally horrendous to us. We have never done anything like this before. Therefore we hope its a massive challenge worth lots of sponsorship for Accuro!
Why Accuro?
The work the small Essex charity Accuro do is amazing. The charity does a lot to support people with disabilities and their families. Noah (my nephew and Claire's son) is a beautiful 9 year old boy who has Autism and with it some complex needs and behaviour. He has benefited hugely from attending the wonderful Saturday Club along with many other children with physical and mental disabilities. We wanted to give something back and support the charity in it's vital work with disabled people and their families.
Anything you donate towards the charity will be noticed, appreciated and make a difference. We have asked that it specifically go to the Saturday Club which Noah and other children with disabilities attend. Thank you so much to everyone that donates. We really appreciate your support. If you are passing the M11 that day we will give you a wave !
