Claire & Becky's Cotswold Challenge Fundraiser!
Fundraising for Cleft Lip And Palate Association
Fundraising for Cleft Lip And Palate Association
Claire and Becky are taking on an even greater challenge than being mums to 3 children!
We are walking 50km along the Cotswold Way on the 26th June as part of the Cotswold Challenge and we are doing it for a number of reasons:
- Over the craziness of the past year, we have found such solace and well-being in being in the great outdoors and walking together
- We wanted to push ourselves and take on a new challenge
- We wanted to raise money for two charities which mean something to each of us: Alzheimer's Society and The Cleft Lip and Palate Association.
The Cleft Lip and Palate Association has particular significance for Claire...
My best friend's little girl, Rae, was born with a number of complications; one of which was a cleft palate. As I lived aboard when she was born, I felt so helpless being so far away but it reassured me to know they were receiving such amazing support from The Cleft Lip and Palate Association. So, I'm fundraising for Rae - who has been a little fighter and is now a fiesty, strong and amazing little girl. I'm just hoping I'll have half as much of her energy on this walk!
The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is a small charity working to improve the lives of people born with a cleft and their families in the UK.
Three babies are born with a cleft every day in the UK. CLAPA is a community of families, patients and health professionals, all dedicated to raising awareness and working together to overcome any barriers caused by cleft lip and palate.
Our vision is of a society where everyone affected by cleft feels supported, connected and empowered to take control wherever they are on their cleft journey.
