Hospice of the Good Shepherd Velocity 2 Zip Line · 9 September 2023 ·
I am taking on the challenge of the fastest zip line in the world on Saturday 9th September 2023 to raise much needed funds for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd. This involves soaring over Penrhyn Slate Quarry on the velocity 2 zip wire - the fastest in the world and the longest in Europe.
I am participating with my lovely friend Mand Milne in memory of her father-in-law Dave Milne, who spent time at the hospice in 2011.
Almost everybody knows someone who has cancer or has lost someone to cancer and a hospice can ensure a person is as comfortable as possible towards the end of their life, whilst also supporting family and friends through one of the toughest times of their lives.
The Hospice of the Good Shepherd is a charity and not part of the NHS, providing their services to patients, carers and families solely on fundraising.
Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its services free of charge to its patients and costs over £5.1million to run each year with just 20% of the funding they receive coming from statutory sources. The remaining 80% is raised from a range of fundraising activities and the support of the generous local community in Cheshire. In addition, they raise money through their local charity shops and weekly lottery.
I really appreciate you reading this page and any donation that you're able to make, thank you very much for your support.
