Story

In july 2021 i was admitted to hospital with an internal bleed, this was something that had happened before over a 5 year period and something i had come to accept.

The hospital done the usual test and again did not find anything serious, but this time they decided to do a scan, a few hours later i had doctors round my bed saying i needed a operation to remove a growth on my small intestine what they believed  to  be a gist tumor.

This had been missed for 5 year on all my camera down my throat and yes up my bum as it was on the bend that joined my stomach and intestine an by this time had been with me 5 years and was a size of a peach.

I was so lucky to be in such a good hospital like Addenbrooks who took me straight to emergency surgery . At the time i did not realize how dangerous this was let alone how painful the operation would be.To cut a long story short the gist was removed and with the determintion was out of hospital a week later.

Everyone thought the Gist would not be cancerous as it is very rare for gists to be,but yes i ticked that box,so not only did i tick that box my gist was diagnosed as a wild Gist where there is not enough known about them to have treatment. The only treatment is removal i was a lucky one that they removed it all and i hope and believe it will not come back.

I am running for those not so lucky and to raise awareness and support  for others in the future with treatment .Also to tell everyone you know your bodies 1 of my signs i should not admit  was i used to poo myself when i ran i thought this was normal but i was doing this before i reached 5k and i was always ill with a cold again i was a new mum thought this was normal. You know your bodies best rember that
