Story

I was a fit and active individual before I developed chronic fatigue syndrome. It was 18 months of a cyclic process of being well/unwell and with multiple visits to the GP before it was recognised as CFS. Often this is the case everything as else needs to be ruled out first!

it's been a difficult and tough journey that required a change in diet, lifestyle, coping mechanisms and job and 3.5 years later life is very different. However I wouldn't change the journey I've been on!

Because I'm now so much better (including working full time) and want a goal in order to become fit again, I've set myself the challenge of undertaking a sprint triathlon! A 20km bike ride, 750m open swim and a 5km run set in the beautiful Devon countryside. I'm wanting to raise money for action for ME in order to help raise awareness for the condition and what it means to live with it. I thank you in advance for any donations however small to help me reach my goal. You can read more about my journey at: www.homeiscake.wordpress.com

At Action for M.E. we're working to end the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by men, women and children with M.E. We provide a lifeline of support to thousands of people each year, campaign to raise awareness of M.E. and work to encourage more high-quality biomedical research.
